Oh YouTube...

Video on the Internet is the reason to have high speed connections. It demands them, it requires them, it makes people want them.

As YouTube is the most popular, I'll start with it. I like being able to zone out once and a while and watch stupid videos on there. Most of the time they are really stupid. Sometimes you just get to see some funny little clips about just about anything that interests you. In a similar fashion to pictures sharing sites that we have looked at previously, like Flickr, users tag images. When tagging is done correctly it makes the entire experience very cool. We can instantly see similar and related videos. We can set some filters and create quick playlists to aid the the zoning out process. YouTube is the biggest, so naturally there is a lot of content, which makes browsing easier than some of the other sites. I always like finding videos that have to do with crazy pc modifications and hacks, which probably isn't a surprise to anyone. I just gone finished watching a couple that had to do with cooling a cpu using liquid nitrogen, very interesting stuff.

Hulu is all TV based, which I've used a few times when I've had my laptop with me, but no tv. You get familiar and more refined videos than those you would find on YouTube. With ads however, because the world is driven on making money. My favorites are the late night talk shows because my schedule doesn't really allow me to stay up and watch them while they are actually on and live. Plus watching tv on a little laptop screen isn't as great as watching tv on a tv, there is something lost there so the talk shows do a good job of breaking things up so you don't have to stay glued to the screen that is 13inches wide.

Fancast is pretty cool, I haven't really messed around with it before so I think I'll do a little more digging on there to exploit its features. Being owned by Comcast definitely seems as though it will be limiting to the content provided, but maybe that won't be as bad as it seems.

Either way, we have plenty of ways to zone out... eventually we're going to look at some ways to zone in on the Internet?
